Tyng-Ruey Chuang

Tyng-Ruey Chuang is an associate research fellow at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, in Taipei, Taiwan. His research areas include functional programming, programming languages and systems, XML and web technologies, and social implications of information technologies.

He leads the open geospatial information team at the Institute, is the public lead of Creative Commons Taiwan, and participates in project OSSF ("OSSF Supports Software Freedom"). Both Creative Commons Taiwan and project OSSF have been supported by the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica since 2003.
